The Health Care
Share system
The EquityHealth Plan (EHP) uses the Health Care Share system to pay
for health care services. Health Care Shares allow EHP members to buy
services directly from the providers they choose using their EHP
membership.

For employers the Health Care Share system

  • Defines a fixed cost per employee
  • Meets all conditions of the new health care law for affordability and coverage
  • Costs less than many of the new laws penalties
  • Offers complete, Essential Coverage without co pay deductible or co-insurance

EHP members buy Health Care Shares from the EHP, then they are stored in their EHP
account. The funds the Health Care Shares represent are deposited into FDIC insured
account(s) collectively know as the "EquityHealth Trust". The Trust is managed by the
EquityHealth L.L.C. Board of Directors.

Health Care Shares never expire or lose value so EHP Members can use them
when they need them. The EHP may be paid for by an employer, but the Health Care
Shares the employer provides are the EHP Members to keep, even if the employee
changes jobs for any reason, they will remain a member of the EHP and can use  the
health care shares they have accumulated. They will also keep any Service Pack
products they have bought with their Health Care Shares, ensuring continuity of
coverage, even after employment with the sponsoring employer.

The key benefits of health care shares  for EHP Members are:

  • They never expire or lose value
  • They are the employees to keep
  • They can be used to pay any provider that will accept an immediate payment
  • They can be used to pay for EHP Service Pack, prepaid health plans
  • They can be used to buy High Deductible Health Insurance Coverage
  • Unused shares remain in the account
